Dean Russell is a true polymath. He the founder of leadership consultancy Epifny Consulting and the Win That Pitch brand. He is a recognised communications and pitch strategist with over two decades of experience working in senior roles and advising many household name brands, global agencies, senior politicians, start-ups, entrepreneurs and business leaders. 


Dean has led, advised, consulted and won pitches ranging from high profile projects through to retainers worth up-to and over seven figures. Dean’s experience has covered every aspect of pitching including digital, communications, creative and marketing. This includes global and household name brands covering almost every sector across Business to Consumer (B2C), Business to Business (B2B), Education, Government and Not-For-Profit with Client’s as diverse as the Department of Health (UK Government), FremantleMedia, Hewlett-Packard, House of Lords, Huawei, Philips, Pret A Manger, Procter & Gamble, Saudi Aramco, Turkish Airlines amongst many others. 


Most recently Dean published his book 'How To Win: The Ultimate Professional Pitch Guide' but Dean has been a regular contributor and interviewee for mainstream and industry publications for many years. His contributions have ranged from mainstream media such as The Sunday Times through to industry news sites such as The Holmes Report and PR Week. Along with major broadcasters such as the BBC and ITV. He is also a contributor to Parliament Street, the UK think tank where his articles have been featured online and in their recent book of political essays.


Dean regularly delivers lectures on industry topics for institutions including University College London (UCL), Ashridge Business School (part of Hult) and the Institute of Direct & Digital Marketing (IDM).

politician & CAMPAIGNER

He is active in British politics, having been a local government councillor and twice running for office as a Parliamentary candidate along with working on several national election campaigns and running a Prime Ministerial leadership campaign.

Dean is a Fellow at the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, a former Regional Vice Chair for the Federation of Small Business and a judge for the British Association of Screen Entertainment.

Dean has also been a long time advocate of mental health awareness including speaking at a UK political party conference on the topic of loneliness (shown in the video here from the live BBC broadcast). Dean is also a volunteer champion with the Media Trust - a leading UK communications charity

He is also a recognised storyteller with four published children’s books available worldwide. Dean originally studied Physics attaining a BSc(Hons) and MPhil along with publishing two papers (available in the British Library). He is also an artist with prints of his work and original pieces having been signed by over sixty Members of Parliament and three British Prime Ministers.
